Pine bush is a country community in the Northern most part of Orange County located in the Town of Crawford. In fact, Pine Bush actually sits on the intersection of all three counties - Orange, Ulster and Sullivan bordered by the Shawangunk Kill Nestled near the foot of the Shawangunk Mountains. The Shawangunk Kill is one of the best trout fishing rivers in New York State and is stocked every year with brown and rainbow trout by the thousands.  Pine Bush also has some of the best horseback riding and hiking trails in the area. Pine Bush is a scenic, story-book upstate New York town with a population of 1,539 in the 2000 census and a median income of about $55,000, where over half the population is married and live in owner/occupied housing with 89% of the poulation commuting to work by car.  Pine Bush Central School district is the largest local employer with seven schools right in town. 
 
We cannot talk about Pine Bush without mentioning the local, national, and world reputation of extraterrestrials visiting the region on a regular basis beginning sometime in the early 1980s when a series of UFO sightings were reported in the area. There are now several books in publication on the subject with many of the authors believing Pine Bush was the target of a handful of visitations.

As for a place to live, Pine Bush provides the privacy and community spirit of a quaint rural town while staying in the feasibility range of commuting to metropolitan areas.
